Installation Report: Clothes Bar
Project Description
This is such a simple accessory that I wasn't going to write it up but people
have seen it in person or in photos and they ask about it so here it is. A
simple two-piece clothes bar which stores in a small bag under the rear seat
when not in use.

Parts & Cost
- One two-piece solid metal clothes bar, found at Big Lots for $9.97 but
similar units can be found anywhere. Just make sure they are wide
enough to cross the whole back seat without bending or sagging in the
middle.
Tools
(just the major items, not a complete list)
- None
Install Process
- Throw it in under the back seat on top of the JBL amplifier. It
fits perfectly and doesn't move until you need it. Assembles and
installs in about 1 minute.
Total Time: ~5 minutes
Comments
- Strength: I hate taking my clothes to the cleaners but it
has to be done. Fortunately the wife handles this for me most of the
time but when I do have to go you can bet it will be a large load. I
have used some other clothes bars which are cheap and flimsy and they often
bend or break in short order. This bar is made of thick solid metal
with a locking mechanism in the middle yet the side posts are adjustable to
any width. Smart design and holds everything I have been able to throw
at it. Not much else to say.
