Installation Report:  Accessory Outlet Flashlight

Project Description
This is one of those really simple and cheap accessories which is priceless when you need it, which for me has been at least once a week.  I was skeptical of the quality at first but it is a top notch unit with a metal body, internal rechargeable battery, concealed on/off switch, and pretty bright beam considering the size.

Parts & Cost

  1. Found this for just $7.94 in the Walmart automotive aisle. I tossed the package out after opening it though so if someone buys this then please send me the UPC code or brand name / model number and I will post it here.

Tools
(just the major items, not a complete list)

  1. None

Install Process

  1. Just plug it in to any accessory outlet.  I used the one inside the center console so it is always in reach.
  2. Let it charge up overnight for the first charge then you can keep it in the socket all the time but pull it out about 1/4" so the tip does not stay connected, thus it won't keep charging but will be held in place for you whenever you need it.
  3. After the battery gets low, which is rare since the LEDs use very little power, simply push it all the way into the outlet and let it charge up overnight again.

Total Time:  ~2 minutes
